Foreshore Road Port Botany
Foreshore Road running between Port Botany and the airport is not your usual beach scene –
you rarely see people swimming or sunbaking there – but there is always something going on.
The beaches aren’t groomed and shells are easy to find. It is a popular place for exercising dogs –
seeing them frolicking in the water. There is plenty of water sports with boats, jet skis and fishermen in the area.
The dune vegetation is abundant. As a bonus -for those with long lenses there is the tanker traffic and the aircraft
movement. Best time to go is at low tide as the beach is rather narrow and when the light is good goes without
saying.
Manns Point at Greenwich
Manns Point has wonderful views of the harbour and is at its best as the sun goes down.
With 3 major aspects, the choices for photography are very wide.
Look up the river towards Parramatta and catch the setting sun.
Turn your back to the setting sun and see the colours
in the sky over the shipping terminal. Turn to the right and the city lights are wonderful.
Mrs Macquaries Chair
Mrs Macquaries Chair in the Botanical Gardens in the city

and Opera house. It is easy to ge to whether you drive or use
Public Transport
Muogamarra Nature Reserve
Muogamarra Nature Reserve is on the
Old Pacific Highway, 3-3.5km north of Cowan Station.
This exceptional Reserve is open to the public for only 6
weekends each year, usually the last three weekends in
August and the first three weekends in September.
The Reserve has an abundance of wildflowers at this time of
year and with spectacular views over the Hawkesbury River
and aboriginal artifacts it is a great photographic opportunity.
You can go and explore by yourselves or take one of the guided tour
(which must be pre booked). All the guides at the reserve are
volunteers and they all have an extensive knowledge of the area.
The trails range from an easy stroll across the top of the escarpment
to mountain goat - down to the river, but just remember if you take
the trail to the river - you have to climb back.
